Does anyone celebrate Christmas without any alcohol?
For my Christmas special themed dessert collection, I knew I had to add a cocktail. Because we all know, alcohol is very important when celebrating Christmas, especially with your relatives- just kidding! Though expensive I do love me a sweet cocktail every now and then, more now actually 😜 We usually do not stock up range of alcohol at home; we are quite loyal to our regular spirits/brands. But I do love the idea of having a fully loaded bar area in the house where we can store wide varieties of alcohol specially for cocktails
This cocktail looks very clean and simple but is absolutely delicious. Even with such plain looks it does have a dazzling impact. There are few ingredients in this that may not be readily available in your house, but if you are anything like me- that is, into cocktails, I strongly recommend stocking up on these liqueurs. You can then proceed to make some fancy cocktails using a mix of these ingredients. First of, I have used White Creme de cacao- it is easily available at BWS or Dan Murphys. This liqueur is used to add chocolate flavour, and is sweet. You can use white chocolate liqueur instead as well. The other thing that I like (admittedly, not everyone likes) is that this cocktail is creamy, of course because we are adding cream in it; but some prefer their drinks to be fizzy. But because this cocktail is a dessert cocktail, the element of cream, sweet chocolate is essential. Next ingredient is vanilla vodka. But if you have normal vodka. then just add few drops of vanilla extract into it- and you will get vanilla vodka😊
I have used Butterscotch schnapps as well, to bring in a toffee, nutty flavour to the drink, which will add another texture to the sweetness of this cocktail. You can replace the schnapps by any other form of nut liqueur-most suitable one will be Almond liqueur- the most famous one is Amaretto.
I am sure many of you will add twists of your own to this cocktail-so please share with me if you do so. I enjoy learning new cocktail recipes, and will continue to hunt. make and share with you all. Have a great time during these holidays.
